The site had its main growth boost during the 60s as part of the Montedison group, on the occasion of the merging with firms operating in the relevant sector such as Montefluos and later Ausimont. On the Bussi site, between the 60s and the 70s, to the industrial centre of chlorine and its derivatives were added the lead chemicals centre (anti-knock compounds for petrol) of the third-party company S.I.A.C. and, afterwards, that of peroxide compounds produced from hydrogen peroxide and the intermediate products for the cleaning sector (Sodium perborate, Sodium silicate). The first attempts of production diversification of the site towards lines of products with a higher added value date back to the period between 1990 and 2000: in this time span the new plant Eureco was established – operating around a new bleaching-sterilizing molecule.
