THE COMPANY

Our company operates in the industrial site of Bussi sul Tirino (PE) with a wholly-owned factory area of 23 hectars, in which the production plants of basic chemicals (Chlorine-Soda line), fine chemicals (Eureco line), polyalluminium chloride (PAC line) and hydropower are located.

Our products are used in several industrial fields, among which the pharmaceutical, food and detergents ones. Furthermore, SCB is constantly involved in the development of innovative products/processes focused on the environmental sustainability with special reference to the water treatment sector.

The site of Bussi sul Tirino can be considered one of the historical establishments of the Italian chemical industry and  its foundation dates back to 1903. From the beginning, the company has turned its attention to basic and fine chemicals and in particular to the production of chlorine and its derivatives.

PRODUCTS

Chlorine-Soda Line

SCB has a modern plant for the production of caustic soda, hydrochloric acid and sodium hypochlorite based on a proprietary process the uses the most up-to-date membrane electrolysis technology.  The main raw materials are composed of hyper-pure sodium chloride that our company purchases from primary international operators, as well as electrical energy.

The membrane electrolysis plant is thus mainly powered using the energy from renewable sources produced in the hydropower plants owned by SCB that are located inside our plant; they are in turn powered by the river Tirino, which runs across the plant itself before flowing into river Pescara.

Eureco line

SCB is the sole producer worldwide of a special molecule (PAP) that has a bleaching and sanitizing effect when in contact with water even at low temperatures. For such qualities, this molecule is thus regarded as a modern lever to achieve an energy and material saving effect inside the formulation of advanced and eco-friendly detergents and disinfectants.

PAP is employed in several formulations, physical forms (liquid, cream, solid) and concentrations directly developed by SCB also in collaboration with its main customers, creating the widest product range ever commercialized under the Eureco brand, which can rely on some formulations used as a Medical Surgical Device.

PAC line

SCB is the only national producer of integrated PAC with the production of the main raw material (Hydrochloric Acid) and therefore the company is able to ensure the maximum continuity of supply together with the highest quality standards throughout the entire industrial supply chain. The PAC is used in different concentrations and degrees of basicity as a water treatment and purification agent through the process of clariflocculation.

Clariflocculation is a chemical-physical treatment applied to the waters to be treated or purified and consists largely in the precipitation of suspended substances which during this process gradually form larger and heavier aggregates; finally, they create a precipitate that deposits on the bottom of the container or of the tank used.

Sodium Chlorite line

SCB is the first producer of sodium chlorite in Europe and in the Mediterranean Region, with the most up to date technology, integrated with sustainable production of electrical, thermal and refrigeration energy.

Because of that SCB is can ensure the maximum competitiveness in price positioning, together with the highest quality standards and minimum CO2 emissions.
Sodium chlorite is used in concentrations of 31% and 25%, both as a disinfectant agent in civil water purification processes and in water treatment within desalination and electricity production processes, as precursor of chlorine dioxide (biocide).
The sodium chlorite produced by us is the one with the best positioning in terms of CFP. Within 3/5 years the product will be “chromate free” thanks to an international patent in the way of registration. The in situ generation of chlorine dioxide from sodium chlorite involves the use of special generators of which SCB has the necessary know-how for theconstruction and supply.
